GHMC has intensified its actions to dismantle illegal possessions on foot paths in the Old City. GHMC Officials of Circle 7 dislodge small traders from the foot paths. It is expected that in the next few days more such actions would be taken. Mr. Somesh Kumar, Special Officer of GHMC issued strict instructions to the officials of Town Planning Section in this regard. Yesterday small traders who had their shops adjacent to the wall of Princess Eisen High School were dislodged. No prior notice was given to them. The officials told that by giving prior notice, GHMC never wanted to provide them an opportunity to approach the court.
Mr. Bala Subramanyam Reddy, Zonal Commissioner of South Zone of GHMC told that the illegal possessions near the school were dislodged after receiving number of complaints from the management. He further told that in order to check the increasing number of illegal possessions and also to provide protection to the school going children, these foot paths have been cleared.
