In view of the ensuing Ganesh festival celebrations, GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy has directed all the departments concerned to take up the works on main road formations deploying special Ganesh action teams for sanitation and providing LED lightings on the procession route.
The Commissioner also directed them to prepare an action plan for Necklace road to keep strict vigil, barricading at sink hole near NTR Garden, which occurred last year and take more care and precautions for convenience of the citizens. The City Convergence meeting held at City Police Commissioner’s office where Dr Janardhan Reddy, CP Mahender Reddy, HMDA Commissioner , Chiranjeevulu, HMWW&SB Managing Director Dana Kishore, EPTRI Secretary Kalyan Chakravarthi, Addl CP (Traffic) .Ravinder, Hyderabad District Joint Collector Prashanthi and senior officials from various departments participated in the meeting.
Interacting with the officials, the GHMC Commissioner said field survey in co-ordination with District Collectors and connected wings should find alternative dumping sites in different corners of the city to dispose of the legacy at Jawaharnagar to curb contamination and pollution in the area in view of rains for the convenience of the citizens.
Water Works MD Dana Kishore said directions have been given to all concerned to come up with a solution in a week to take up all the related works in a phased manner on priority. Kalyan Chakravarthi said some lands were being identified for the alternative locations for dumping at Medak, Medchal, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda Districts.
Discussions were also held with regard to Hyderabad Marathon Run scheduled to be held on August 20 where the GHMC Commissioner directed all officials to coordinate and take up appropriate steps like proper lighting at early hours, traffic regulations and other facilities.
Commissioner of Police Mahender Reddy has directed the officials to take up signages, Road markings, medians at critical points, speed breakers, cement blocks and so on at all the junctions. He also directed the ZCs, DCs and senior officials of Engineering wing to take up all works on priority.
The City Police Commissioner, on behalf of the officials of various Heads of Departments felicitated Water Works MD Dana Kishore for getting ISO certification. (NSS)
