The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to construct public toilets on permanent basis at weekly market places.
GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy has directed the officials to list weekly market places and arrange toilets on permanent basis with maintenance arrangements. During a tele-conference with senior officials on Sunday, he said in case of locations, where there is no availability of public space, mobile toilets should be arranged by mapping their days of occurrence.
With regard to Parichayam of Sanitation officials, the sweepers have been asked to get a minimum of three signatures per page.
Speaking about house-to-house verification of BC electors, the Commissioner said that the EROs should not to re-enter the deleted voters, if their deletion is found to be erroneous, without the prior permission of the DEO. He said it should be ensured that Supervisory Officers are properly working and their remarks are compulsory while disposing claims and objections It also decided to dispose all pending online claims and objections. There should not be unnecessary rejection of Form 8.
The Commissioner also asked officials to analyse the reasons for open dumping and workout strategy for prevention of open dumping. The Zonal Commissioners were asked to assess the number of potholes on daily basis by Monday and plan their restoration in a campaign mode and update in website. They were asked to plan to make use of Road Doctor in by-lanes during day time and signature of locals should be obtained for restored potholes / replaced manhole covers / any other maintenance works done, as a measure of social audit.
