Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner MT Krishna Babu on Friday directed the officials to depute female workers also along with the UMS team so that they can take up Anti Larval Operations at the residences as most of the owners are not permitting the male workers into their homes.
The GHMC Commissioner issued these directions after he, along with other officials, visited and inspected Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s and General Hospital at Purani Haveli to enquire in to the prevalence of Dengue and other viral fevers. He interacted with the concerned doctors who are looking after the cases pertaining to communicable diseases and personally enquired with the patients about the treatment being given to them. He requested the people to take all precautionary measures and maintain hygiene in their premises.
The Commissioner also visited the residences of people listed as suspected cases of Dengue by the Chief Entomologist. He also inspected some of the open points at Uppuguda and interacted with the Urban Malaria workers who were on the job doing Anti-Larval Operations. He enquired about the availability of required chemicals for their operations.
Later, the Commissioner also visited Azampura division and visited two houses whose residents were suffering from communicable diseases and enquired and cross checked the reports along with the CMOH.
The Commissioner has directed the Chief Entomologist to take up the pasting of posters and stickers in Urdu to create awareness about the ill effects of the communicable diseases.
Uppuguda Corporator Samad Bin Abdat, Azampura Corporator Amjadullah Khan Khaled, Additional Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) L Vandan Kumar, Zonal Commissioner (South) N Ravi Kiran and other senior officials were also present.
