Hyderabad: As part of the efforts to make the city pollution-free, GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) is going to introduce 50 charging stations for electric vehicles in the city. GHMC has also finalized an agreement with State-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd’s (EESL) procurement of electric cars from Mahindra Electric and Tata Motors which is said to be a big push towards electric mobility in India.
GHMC Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan Rao said, “To reduce air pollution in Hyderabad, Telangana Government is going to introduce electric vehicles, for the convenience of public 50 charging stations is going to come up and the arrangement has already been done, moreover GHMC is going to act on current diesel, petrol or gas autos.”
The civic body makes sure that autos in the city would be an electric one, says Dana Kishor, Commissioner, GHMC.
