GHMC chief threatens to invoke ESMA if staff goes on strike

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the strike call given by the Bhagyanagar Municipal GHMC Employees Union (BMS) was not proper at this juncture in view of the festivals and rainy season.

The Commissioner said that the demand for enhancement of the salaries was seriously being pursued with the State Government. He requested all the Unions to cooperate with the GHMC and not to create any inconvenience to the citizens of the city.

Somesh Kumar directed all the Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to deploy the vehicles at every ward with four labors and they should not wait for the any unto ward incident and be ready to tackle the issue and ensure that total city be kept clean without any problems. If the workers fail to resume work from Thursday, a series of measures will be taken. They include action under ESMA and RP Act.

The Commissioner further warned anybody who are going to disturb the work will be dealt seriously. (INN)
