GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has directed the contractors to complete the construction of slab culvert across the Kukatpally nala near Deendayal Nagar within three months time, as the work is going in a slow phase.
The Commissioner inspected various developmental works in Kukatpally circle today along with Corporator Muddaram Krishna Goud. He said that the work was allotted to M/s R. Mastan Valli & Others with contract amount of Rs. 278 lakhs and instructed to complete the work before onset of monsoon, as the area is posing threat to the dwellers of low lying areas and further enquired about alternate by pass arrangements made for the traffic.
Somesh Kumar informed that construction of slab culvert across the nala near Rajkamal Transport at Fathe Nagar in Kukatpally circle is already sanctioned and directed the officials to complete the tender process very soon. The Commissioner further informed that the estimated cost of the project is Rs. 480 lakhs.
The Commissioner has inspected the works pertainingg to improvement of Kukatpally nala (Chemical Nala) taken up with JNNURM funds and JICA funds. While briefing about the projects the Commissioner said that the estimated cost of improvement of Kukatpally nala with JNNURM funds is Rs. 1458 lakhs covering 900 metres of length, for which 72 bottle necks have to be removed. Estimated cost for improvement of Kukatpally nala with JICA funds is Rs.1596 lakhs covering 900 metres of length, for which 103 properties have been affected out of which 39 bottle necks were removed. The Commissioner directed the officials to see that work should run full swing.
As requested by the local representatives the Commissioner has promised to sanction to bridge near Pipe line road within 15 days time and directed the officials to submit the revised proposals immediately. Responding to media personnel query regarding widening of Narsapur road which is creating traffic congestion, the Commissioner said that the is being taken up by R&B department and role of GHMC is limited to property acquisition process and promised that he will speak to R&B officials for speeding of the work.
R Dhan Singh, Engineer in Chief, S Aleem Basha, Zonal Commissioner, West Zone, B.V. Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Commissioner, Kukatpally circle and other senior officials of GHMC from engineering, town planning and health sections have participated during the visit. (INN)
