GHMC chief directs officials to get ready for Haritha Haram program

GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, as a part of Telanganaku Haritha Haram program, directed all the Zonal Commissioners to convene meetings with Deputy Directors of Urban Biodiversity and Deputy Commissioners on Telanganaku Haritha Haram (TKHH) preparatory works immediately. Each and every site should be identified for sapling planting to be listed with area, number of plants and date of planting should be given.

The Commissioner also gave certain instructions to the Zonal Commissioners to organize meetings with Residents Welfare Associations and take required number of plants for planting on colony roads homestead plants. The DCs/DDs have to conduct ward level meetings on TKHH and give wide publicity and start all preparatory works for planting throughout June, he added.

All the open spaces in all the Zones must be attended and taken up cleansing and planting under TKHH. No open space should be left unplanted or unattended to. All the lakes should be dotted with silver oak around. Greenery and beautification in Durgam Cheruvu must be completed before inauguration. He also directed the DCs and DDs to visit the medians and junctions under their jurisdictions and take up beautification work by planting flowering plants. All repairs should be attended on priority. All fountains must be made functional at all junctions within 15 days. The ZCs and AC UBD should monitor, review on regular basis and see that the works are attended to on top priority, he exhorted.
