GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy asked the officials to ensure better coordination with citizens to provide basic civic amenities and take up programmes like sanitation, re-carpeting of roads, maintenance of street lights, water conservation, parks and sports activities.
He was speaking after his visit to Madhura Nagar of Yellereddyguda in Yousufguda division on Sunday. He said Madhura Nagar has emerged as a model colony where the Residents Welfare Associations are playing a vital role in maintaining civic amenities. They have ensured 100% door to door garbage collection besides maintaining a community hall. He said RWAs in other areas too should be encouraged to participate in the development activities.
The Commissioner informed that the GHMC was providing auto-tippers to all the colony Welfare Associations for transportation of garbage.
Various representatives of the Madhura Nagar Colony Welfare Association, Additional Commissioner (H&S) N. Ravi Kiran and senior officials of the GHMC participated in the programme. (INN)
