GHMC asks hoteliers, meat traders to use stamped meat only

Hari Chandana, IPS, zonal Commissioner Central Zone, GHMC appealed to hoteliers, meat traders, meat shop owners to procure and utilize stamped meat from the GHMC slaughter houses and maintain hygiene failing which action will be initiated as per the provisions of the Act.


The GHMC conducted an awareness meeting on procurement of stamped meat from GHMC modern slaughter houses to curb unhygienic conditions and other priorities to be taken while selling the meat.  Around 400 members from Hotels, Meat traders Meat shop owners participated in the awareness  meeting conducted at Khaja Mansion Function Hall, Masab tank today.


The zonal commissioner central said a lot of complaints have been coming on sale of unhygienic meat and illegal slaughtering and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to create awareness among the traders to use hygienic meat keeping in view of the citizens health.  The senior officials from the veterinary wing have explained to the traders on the ill-effects of unhygienic meat through power point presentation. The traders also interacted and given some suggestions and assured that they will co-operate with the GHMC. (NSS)
