To improve sanitation in the city, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning to add 10 more manual sweeping machines to the existing fleet of 24 diesel-based machines.
The new manual machines, to be introduced on pilot basis, will be provided to the regular sweeping employees and they will be used on some of the main streets of the city. Based on their performance, more machines would be added to the fleet. According to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, some more companies dealing with this type of machines would be called so as to improve the sanitary conditions in the GHMC. (INN)
