The Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (GHCC) on Friday paid Rs 2 lakh in cash as ex-gratia to the family members of Martyr Feroz Khan, who was killed in cross-border firing by Pakistani troops.
GHMC Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, Corporators Wajid Hussain and Prabhakar Reddy and other office bearers of GHCC visited the residence of Feroz Khan and consoled his mother Akhter Begum and wife Nasreen Begum. The Deputy Mayor said that as per the promise made by Labour Minister and GHCC President Danam Nagender of giving financial assistance to the bereaved family, Rs 2 lakh in cash was being paid on behalf of GHCC.
Meanwhile, the Labour Minister personally interacted with the family members over phone and assured them that the government would provide them all assistance. (INN)
