Uttar Pradesh got some respite from the heat wave with parts of the state receiving moderate to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours.
The day temperatures fell quite a bit in Meerut, Moradabad, Lucknow, Bareilly and Agra due to the rains, the met office said.
But the temperatures were appreciably above normal in the Allahabad division. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 43.6 degrees celsius recorded at Etawah.
Rain and thundershowers have been predicted at some places over eastern UP and at isolated places over the western region.
