Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today launched a first-of-its-kind helpline for journalists across the state.
The helpline, 1880, will be managed by the state information and public relations department.
The call centre will provide assistance to mediapersons, an official said.
A computerised “letter and file tracking system” was also launched by Yadav at a function held at his official residence.
The tracking system of files was aimed at time-bound disposal of the important files and do away with any red-tapism.
The information department has digitised over 40,000 rare and important photographs and negatives of pictures which have historic value.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister launched a special Coffee Table Book on eminent litterateur Amrit Lal Nagar at the event.
At the launch, he said he wanted to start a call centre in the CM’s office on coming to power, but his plan could not take shape and now an integrated grievances portal would help the people.
He further said the first-ever integrated portal ‘jansunvai’ would help in effective and transparent redressal of people’s grievances.
Through the portal, common people will be able to lodge their complaints and action on them will be monitored and problems will be resolved, he added.
