A gesture of religious harmony _ non-Muslim youth represents for Muslim quota

Hyderabad: BC Commission was taken by surprise on Friday when a non-Muslim youth submitted his representation in favour of Muslim quota. Amidst the representations for and against the Muslim quota being submitted to the commission, V Pawan Kumar introduced himself in the mike. Commission thought that he must have come to speak against the Muslim reservations, but the youth took them by surprise when he told that he had come all the way from Sadashivpet to Hyderabad to represent in favour of Muslim reservations.

V Pawan Kumar is the president of Youth Congress Sadashivpet. He told the Commission that Muslims should get reservations on the ground of their backwardness. He added that the Sudhir Commission of Enquiry has recommended for 9 to 12 pc reservations. Chief Minister has already promised to provide 12 pc reservations hence BC Commission should prepare report on those lines.

Pawan Kumar’s representation evoked positive response and several Muslim organisations congratulated him on this gesture.
