Geospatial award to Gujarat

Hyderabad, January 19: Offering space and logistical support for setting up of country’s first Geospatial Technology Park, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today invited the world leaders in the sector ‘to be part of the growth story of Gujarat.’

The Chief Minister has flown in today to receive the ‘premier Geo Spatial state’ award presented by the Geospatial World Forum for excellence and innovation in geo spatial technology applications.

“Recognising that we need to make the quality of life better than the best in the world, Gujarat is applying geo spatial technology in almost all fields from infrastructure to education and from governance to education,” said Modi.

The Geospatial World Forum 2011 Excellence award was given to Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority in mineral exploration and mining, transport management and utilities management. Bharti Airtel Ltd got the award for application of geoSpacial technology in telecommunications.
