Genuine massage parlours under police radar

According to Sections 68, 70 and 74 of the Hyderabad Police Act , the city police prohibited “illegal activities” carried out at massage parlours and lack of clarity about these relaxation centres creates confusion among the owners.

The one who are running their massage parlours (like herbal treatment centres) sincerely have been under suspicion of the police for misuse as such centres in star hotels and in upper-class resorts are mostly do not take into account by the cops.

According to Professor N. Satya Prasad, head of the department of Ayurvedic Medical College, Hyderabad, “Massage is one of the sympathetic treatments for Ayurvedic medicine and is one of the main procedure of panch karma. Several skin diseases or muscular pain is cured only through massages by applying varieties of medical oils .” However, unprofessional conduct in the name of massage treatment bringing a bad name for Ayurvedic system.
However, there are many massage centres makes a customers sign a policy letter which states the rules of the parlour before the process.

Massage parlours have suggestive ads

Over 15 massage parlours and 30 sex rackets has been a onslaught so far in the city in 2013.
But, inspite of that such illegal activities continue to thrive unconstrained at many places due to a lack of strict and effective regulations.

Sign boards , online offers with sexy taglines like “body-to-body massage”, “massage with extra services”, “A-Z body” and Eye catching advertisements etc. are used by these parlours to attract customers and to run their prostitution rackets.

A few obstacles are in accordance with the punishment to the people involved in flesh trade, states law and order department as it become hard to prove with contingent evidences due to which the accused escape easily from the clutches of law. And this low conviction rate encourages the accused to start the illegal business again.
Data analysis on conviction showed that only in the negligible number of cases, the accused was convicted, that too under Sections carrying very less punishment.
