General strike will paralyse administration: Jupally

Hyderabad, September 08: Former minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday stated that the employees’ general strike would paralyse the entire State administration from Sept 13.

Participating as chief guest in the inauguration of bus yatra taken up by Lambada Hakkula Porata Samiti at Telangana Martyrs memorial in Gun Park as part of expressing solidarity to the general strike, Jupally Krishna Rao said that the strike was aimed at mounting pressure on the Centre to announce its decision on Telangana. He also alleged that some elected representatives were playing with the lives of Telangana people by not resigning to their posts. He asked as to why the Telangana Congress elected representatives have become mute spectators. “At least now they should open they eyes and resign to their posts afresh,” he said.

“If they did not open their eyes and fail to resign to their posts, the people of region will not forgive them and boycott their visit to villages,” he stated. He called upon the people to paralyse the administration in the region until the Centre announces a decision on the Telangana state formation.

Suspended leader from Telugu Desam Party Nagam Janardhan Reddy slammed the Ministers for attending to their duties and cabinet meeting by ignoring the fact that more than 600 people committed suicide demanding statehood for the Telangana region. He alleged that the Ministers were attending Cabinet meeting in order to protect their seats and to save the government.

Nagam also appealed to the Speaker Nadendla Manohar to accept their resignations soon.
