Jaipur, March 01: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot monday met the family of two sisters who were allegedly raped in Baran district last month.
The Chief Minister interacted with members of Seharia community in two villages including the family members of the woman who along with her minor sister was allegedly raped and also enquired about the status of inquiry into the case, official sources said.
The victims were allegedly employed as bonded labourers by the accused.
The police had arrested the rape accused two days ago following the Chief Minister’s direction after the victims alleged that the police had refused to register their complaint.
Gehlot said that the state government was concerned for the issues of the community and welfare schemes will be initiated for them, they said.
Baran district is 292 kms from Rajasthan capital Jaipur.
