Gehlot govt losing grip: Raje

Kota, July 09: Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today claimed that the Congress government in the state was losing its grip on its own MLAs whom she accused of defying party whip and indulging in cross-voting during recently held biennial polls to the Rajya Sabha.

Seven Congress MLAs, including three ministers in Gehlot government, had voted for BJP candidates Ram Jethmalani and V P Singh as their second priority, prompting the AICC to serve them with show cause notices for violating the whip, the BJP General Secretary told reporters after a meeting of party workers in Bundi, 10 kms from here.

No one in the government is paying heed to the opinions expressed by Congress workers with the result that the ministers and MLAs are showing resentment against their leader (Gehlot), she alleged.
