Geeta Reddy launches Satarupa

Warangal, May 27: Minister for tourism J Geeta Reddy has said the state government has decided to hold cultural festivals at different parts of the state. “Artistes belonging to the respective areas will be given importance during the programmes,” she added.

Inaugurating a 33 daylong cultural festival `Satarupa’ here at the Public Gardens today, the minister said next phase of Satarupa would be held in Vijayawada and Anantapur. According to her, the concluding function would be held in Hyderabad on a grand scale.

As for tourism, the minister said efforts were on to develop Warangal as a cultural hub of the state. “The ongoing renovation works on ancient temples and new projects will help the district in attracting more tourists,” she said.

“More tourists means more jobs for the locals,” she pointed out. Earlier, the minister laid foundation stone for a museum coming up at Warangal fort at an estimated cost of Rs 1.92 crore.

The minister also launched renovation works on the Swayambhu temple. Mayor Errabelli Swarna, minister for major irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah, MLAs GV Ramana Reddy, T Rajaiah and B Saraiah, MLC P Padmavathi, district collector N Sridhar, director of culture Kantha Rao

and DPRO K Venkataramana were present.
