Ahmedabad: The Muslim teenager boy who was arrested by Una police for allegedly thrashing the four Dalits in Una town of Gujarat revealed that he was told by the cow vigilantes to film the flogging.
According to Times of India report, CID crime officials probing the case said it has come to light that the Muslim teen, resident of Una was passing by the spot where the dalits were being flogged. One of the attackers summoned the boy and handed him his cell phone, and told him to film the flogging.
“The boy was then told to thrash the dalit men. “The Muslim boy, was among the first five persons arrested by Una police. The probe later handed to CID crime,” said a senior police official as chargesheet in the case relating to the Una atrocity against Dalits is likely to be filed before September 11.
The Muslim teen has been arrested on the basis of videos of the incident which went viral on social media. In the video clips, he is seen thrashing the four Dalits.
Meanwhile, a manhunt was also launched by CID crime to nab Rahul Parmar, the treasurer of the Sanatan Charitable trust of Una.
“Rahul was told about ‘cow slaughter’ at Bharadiya village by a tuition class owner Nitin Kothari. Rahul in turn informed his boss Monpara, who directed the gau rakshaks to Bharadiya village. We also learnt that it was Monpara who phoned Una police to cover up things, as the matter escalated quickly when the videos went viral,” added a CID crime official.
