(Siasat News) Chief Minister of A.P. Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is making every possible attempt for getting the natural gas allotted for the Telagana energy projects. In addition to Prime Minister, he has written letters to other central ministers. At present, energy projects in Telangana very badly need natural gas.
A press release issued from the office of the Chief Minister yesterday depicts that the Chief Minster has referred the issue to Prime Minister of India. He has also spoken to Minister for Petroleum, Mr. Jaipal Reddy, C.M. has requested for the allotment of 9.72 MMSCD gas. C.M. has also requested Mr. Jaipal Reddy to pay attention to the supply of 4.62 MMSCMD gas to Shankerpally energy project in Ranga Reddy District.
He told the petroleum minister that the gas is needed on priority basis. C.M. was addressing Indiramma Bata programme at a review meeting held in Khammam. Speaking on this occasion, the C.M., said that all the regions of the state are equal for him. He has been exerting pressure on the Central Govt. continuously for the supply of gas to the energy projects of the state. C.M. emphatically told that he is not going back from Polavarm Project. Govt. has already spent Rs. 4,000 on this project. At this stage it is not possible to change its design. He said that he would talk to the other states also which are taking part in this project. He assured that due to the construction of Polavaram Project, Telagana Region won’t be put to loss.
He told that 400 TMC water is being released in the sea which will be made use of for Polavaram Project. 45+MC water will be supplied to Rayalaseema and Telangana Regions. C.M. told that there is a proposal to start a steel plant in Khammam District.
