With the few elected corporators of GHMC declared disqualified by the court in various legal complications, developmental activities in those divisions have come to a standstill. A live example of this is the Borabanda division. Since the report of the corporator being declared disqualified by the court, was aired on TV channels and published in newspapers, the corporator is showing lack of interest in developmental activities in his division.
Borabanda division starts and ends with the garbage pile. Insanitary conditions persist even as the holy month of Ramadan has entered the 19th day. Debris, drains and garbage are not being cleared on a regular basis from lanes and bylanes. The overflowing drainage water is raising unbearable stink.
It must be noted that the adjoining Motinagar municipal division has been formed just 3 years ago. Inspite of that it has seen rapid development during the last 3 years while the Borabanda municipal division which is older has remained the same. Who is responsible for this slackness and pathetic condition of this municipal division?
