Hyderabad, August 31: A ganja peddler was nabbed and huge quantity of the contraband material brought from Visakhapatnam Agency area was seized from him.
The accused, K Srinu, was nabbed on Sunday near Tarnaka with a load of 74 kg of ganja brought from Sileru agency area in Visakhapatnam.
Srinu is a resident of Ayyappa Colony in L B Nagar.
Srinu migrated from Prakasam district and working in the city as a mason.
As his income could not meet his lavish lifestyle, he joined hands with a lady, Lalitha, who is into the supply of ganja.
On her advice, Srinu used to procure ganja from Sileru and sell the same in the city. He was arrested by the Tuni police while transporting the ganja and got released a few days back.
After his release, he once again went to Sileru and procured 72 kilo ganja packed in 36 packets of two kilos each. He procured the contraband material for Rs 2,500 per packet and was planning to sell the same for Rs 15,000 per packet, Task Force Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police M Ravindranath Babu said.
To transport the huge quantity of ganja, he purchased a fourwheeler and was nabbed at Tarnaka with the material.
Srinu along with the contraband material was handed over to the Osmania University police for further investigation.
