TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has alleged that while gangsters and factionists ran away from the State when he was the chief minister, they started ruling the State after Congress came to power.
Naidu, who arrived here for election campaigning for his party in the Macharla and Prattipadu constituencies, has said the State had lost a lot because of the activities of the gangsters and factionists. It was astonishing that it was being alleged that Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy’s son was having connections with Bhanu Kiran, a hardened criminal facing charges of murdering Rayalaseema factionist Maddelacheruvu Suri. He said that it denoted the sorry state of affairs prevailing in Andhra Pradesh.
Alleging that both the ruling Congress and its offshoot YSR Congress had started eliminating their political opponents through the gangsters, Naidu said that if he had also thought that way when he was in power, these parties would have been totally wiped out by now.
Exuding confidence that his party would win both Prattipadu and Macharla seats in Guntur district, Naidu said that his party would continue its fight for the rights of the farmers, until he achieved his goal of making agriculture a profitable proposition. He also assured the Kapu community, which is said to be discontented on neglect by the party leadership, that he would give more tickets to them in the next elections.
Possibly referring to PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana, Naidu has alleged that political leaders were now making films with their illegal income. It may be mentioned here that Botcha has invested in high-budget films produced by comedian Ganesh with big stars like Pawan Kalyan. Naidu has said that he did not understand why Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has been named accused No. 1 in all the three charge-sheets filed against him, was so far not arrested.
Speaking on the occasion, another senior TDP leader Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao has said that Congress and YSR Congress were responsible for the present by-elections. He said that if democracy was to survive in the State, TDP should come back to power. He has alleged that Jagan had colluded with the TRS.
