(Siasat News): As soon as Id-ul-Azha come nearer, the Qureishi fraternity and other dealers become active in transferring the animals to the city.
On the other hand, gangs of miscreants also come into action to seize the animals meant for slaughter on the occasion of Bakri Id. Later, these very animals are set free in the jungles in wilderness.
Now, the situation has reached to a point where Qureishi fraternity is under pressure when the Id is round the corner. Earlier, animals were transferred to the city so easily without any fear or hindrance though they had to grease the palms of the corrupt police officials on the way to the city.
However, since last five years, the scene is totally changed and had taken a communal turn. The miscreants seize the animals and set them free in jungles leaving the Qureishi fraternity in the lurch and putting them at the loss of worth lakhs of rupees.
Sometimes, the money is borrowed and being invested in the trade. The animals are brought from Shadnagar, Pargi, Jadcherla, Chevella, Vikarabad and Moinabad. The money is paid four to five months in advance and on a promise that the animals would be shifted to the city on time.
They used to take sigh of relief as paying the money was equivalent to half the work done. The suppliers of the animals are very cunning and sharp. They know very well that despite having the valid documents of the vehicle, the officials deployed at the check posts would not let them go easily unless they are bribed.
Moreover, the informers deployed at various check posts, also inform the police officials on mobiles about the movement of the vehicles and the number of animals loaded with the registration number of the vehicles.
From here onwards, the police officials start the waiting of the vehicles to arrive. The driver of the vehicle becomes happy that a few bucks had done the work without realizing that another difficulty is awaiting him in the form of the miscreants who are being updated by the informers about the movements of the vehicle.
As soon as the vehicle reaches in the vicinity of the miscreants, they attack it like wolves and set all the animals free. Once animals got freedom, they become astray and once again caught by another gang of miscreants and being re-sold in the market.
This system is not going to change for sure at least in near future. To avoid this it is high time for the Qureshi fraternity to take some positive steps without involving themselves into any fight or dispute.
They should acquire 10-15 acres of land either in Shaheen Nagar or Pahadi Shareef and arrange to keep the animals the way they are being kept in a Gowshala. Sheds should be erected to accommodate at least 10,000 animals at a time.
In other days, the animals should be brought there and kept under their supervision. When the Id comes nearer, they should start selling the animals without any fear, disturbance and violence.
To fight the gangs of miscreants and dacoits, this is the only option they could adopt. The miscreants would never dare to enter these sheds, as they are well aware of the kind of fate they are going to meet.
It is high time that police should perform its role honestly and look into it that miscreants could not create any problem this Id and all coming Ids.
