Faridabad: Faridabad police have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of four persons.
The four men are allegedly involved in many cases of loot. The accused have admitted to 8 cases of loot in the last ten days out of which three were in Faridabad while the other five incidents were of Delhi, police said today.
All four members of the gang hail from Uttar Pradesh and were currently living in the Panchsheel Colony of Faridabad.
Yashpal Khatana, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sarai said that the modus operandi of the gang was to steal a bike from adjoining areas of Delhi, such as Badarpur or Jaitpur and then strike at any place in Faridabad.
They used to allegedly fire at the victim and rob him or her. After robbing the victim, they used to go underground for few days.
The ACP said that there have been three incidents in recent weeks. In the first case, the gang allegedly robbed the owner of Mother Dairy booth at Naveen Nagar.
The man was injured by the bullet shot and was robbed of Rs 12,000.
In this incident, two men were seriously injured.
In another case, an amount of Rs 10,000 was snatched from a shopkeeper in the same locality while in the third incident the gang allegedly shot a man to loot Rs 14,000. Two more cases of loot took place in the area of Sarai Police Station.
After three incidents in Faridabad, the gang also targeted another mother dairy booth at Mehrauli in Delhi.
The police have recovered three country made pistols, four live cartridges of 315 bore, seven bullet shells, 16 master keys and three mobile phones from the possession of the gang.
