Madras: On receiving Public Interest Litigation (PIL) of alleged gangrape of a minor girl by IPS Officers and other policemen, Madras High Court asked Tamil Nadu Police to submit status report. It was alleged in PIL that the Minor girl was being drugged and sexually exploited for the past three years.
T. Vincent, a lawyer and social activist filed a PIL on Monday which states that, although the 17-year-old victim had named several police officers in her complaint, only her father and brother were sent to jail. The victim in her FIR named her late grandfather, father, brother, friends of her father and brother, relatives, neighbours and several others in the area as accused.
Alleging that the officers who raped the girl were putting hurdles in investigation, CBI probe was demanded in the PIL. In the PIL, the victim claimed that in spite of giving a statement before the magistrate, Police registered a case only against her father and brother.
The victim who used to live with her grandparents since her mother had expired started suffering when she was first sexually abused by her grandfather in 2008 after which the victim’s brother joined victim’s grandfather. Brother of the victim used to allow his friends to sexually abuse her for money.
After a fight with her father, girl went to the Sivaganga Police Station, where the Inspector of Police demanded sexual favours from her to register a case. Later, two police officers sent the girl to their senior officers on many occasions where she used to be drugged and gang raped by police officers which included three IPS officers. Girl in her statement, she named two doctors who allegedly carried out her abortions.
