New Delhi, November 09: Police today busted an international gang involved in making fake notes and seized fake notes worth Rs 1.24 lakh after arresting five persons here.
Superintendent of Police, K P Venkateshwar said based on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at a hotel here and arrested gangsters — Mustkim and Azad. During interrogation, the duo confessed that the fake notes were supplied by Delhi-based Maya alias Mrityunjay Verma.
With the help of the arrested persons, police located the gang’s kingpin Maya and two other members –Ramniwas and Manoj and arrested them.
Apart from the fake notes, two motorbikes and five cell phones were recovered from them, the SP said adding that the police were in touch with Delhi police and state police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad to get more information about the gang.
