Gandra holds Naidu responsible for House adjournments

Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Monday accused Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu of being responsible for frequent adjournment of the House on liquor syndicate issue.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Gandra said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy clearly stated that it was not possible to place the ACB report on liquor syndicate as the investigations were yet to be completed. He said that the report would be tabled in the House after the completion of enquiry.

The Chief Whip said that the government has already assured that it would take severe action against those involved in the scam. “Despite assurance of the Chief Minister, there was no point in the opposition leader demanding the ACB report in midway and seeking judicial probe with a sitting High Court judge,” he said.

Gandra advised Naidu to relent on the issue and help the government discuss important public issues in the House.

He also said that Congress MLAs from Telangana region would launch campaign for by-elections and work collectively for the victory of candidates by taking the benefits of government schemes and programmes to the people. (INN)
