Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkatramana Reddy has said that the Centre would announce a positive decision on Telangana issue in the second or third week of September.
Speaking to the media at CLP office here on Tuesday, Gandra has responded on Seemandhra MPs dinner meeting held at Delhi in Eluru MP Kavuri Sambashiva Rao’s residence on Monday evening, and said that Kavuri’s opinion is his own, and Telangana MPs opinion was also their own and the Centre will take a final decision considering both the opinions. He said that the Telangana Congress leaders would go Delhi if the need arises.
Stating that it was not proper to respond on NDTV’s survey now, he said that he will not agree with the survey and said that the poll scenario will change every hour. He said that the Congress party will again get power in the State. He also made it clear that the Congress will come into power in the 2014 general elections, in both the States in case the State was divided.
He said that CPI State secretary Dr K Narayana might be suffering from ill- health and he needed medical treatment and hence he was making irrelevant statements and it is good for him to join hospital for treatment.
Gandra has demanded the main Opposition TDP MLAs to tender unconditional apologies to the Chief Minister for their behavior on Monday at Chief Minister Office. He has alleged that the TDP was resorting to excess movements in the name of power.
He said that the State Government was firm on supplying seven hour power to the Agriculture sector.
MLC Rudraraju Padma Raju said that the TDP has taken up power movement for the sake of ‘power’ only.
At another press meet, School Education Minister Dr S Sailajanath has said that the Government has no ‘magic wand’ to solve the power crisis immediately. He asked the TDP to give the ‘magic stick’ if they have to solve the power crisis. He said that TDP MLAs have no dignity and decorum towards the power problem and were only taken up the issue only for political mileage.
Asked on AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi’s statement on mid-term elections, Sailajanath has said that they will abide by her decision whatever it may be.
MLC Bhanuprasad has flayed that the TDP’s power movement was ridiculous and said that TDP might have forgotten the Basheerbhag firing that took place during it’s regime, and taken up the movement now.
