Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Friday appealed to party seniors not to weaken the Congress by making unsavoury comments in the media against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy advised the party leaders to raise their issues before party forum instead of pressing them before media and resorting to damage the party image.
Stating that the Chief Minister and PCC chief could not be held responsible for party’s debacle in the by-elections, he said that the elections for seven Assembly constituencies were held under tough political conditions in the State. He said that the party has learnt a good lesson from the by-elections and both Kiran Kumar Reddy and Botsa Satyanarayana would take precautionary measures to ensure party’s victory in the next by-elections for 17 Assembly constituencies. He asked the senior leaders to stop making public statements and raise their issues before high command.
Admitting that the Telangana sentiment was strong in the by-elections, he appealed to high command to take an early decision on the statehood issue to protect the party in the region.
