BJP celebrated Gandhi Ji’s birth anniversary with much pomp and show. Reacting to this, former union minister Chidambaram has asked tough questions to the government, he asked his family members to write on twitter on his behalf:
He tweeted: “I have asked my family to tweet on my behalf the following: As we begin the year long celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, we have to ask the question “Whither Liberty, Equality and Fraternity?”
The former union minister further wrote:
“Fraternity is all but dead. Casteism and bigotry seem to have taken over. Equality is a distant dream. All the evidence point to growing inequality among Indians. Liberty is the only flame flickering weakly. Will it burn brightly or die, only time can tell.”
Chidambaram is continuously targeting BJP since he is in jail in INX media case. He has also raised voice for farmers and apple growers of Kashmir.
In one of his tweets he stated: “The sound of drums has faded. Will the powers that be now listen to the cry of workers who have been laid off or lost their jobs forever? According to a report, 1 lakh workers in the Diamond industry in Surat.”
