Gandhi Hospital’s Jr Doctors call off strike

The junior doctors at the Gandhi Hospital on Thursday called off their strike following State Government’s assurance that it would deploy special security forces to prevent attacks on them.

The junior doctors called off the decision to boycott emergency and in-patient services on the government’s promise that special security forces would be deployed in the hospital within a week.

It may be recalled the doctors went on snap strike after their colleague was assaulted by an angry crowd on Tuesday. The medical services were paralysed in the public hospital for two days due to the strike.
