Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy made a surprise visit to Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday and order for removal of Resident Medical Officer for dereliction of duties.
The Health Minister visited the Emergency and other wards of Gandhi Hospital and interacted with the patients and their attendants on the facilities being extended to them. He observed that there were no stretchers in Out-Patient Ward and the overall services were not upto the mark. He immediately announced removal of RMO Dr. Saraswati and she has been repatriated to the Director of Medical Education.
Lakshma Reddy said that the government would take stern action against those who fail to perform their duties properly.
He also announced that soon the Gandhi Hospital would have a 65-bedded ICU unit, along with a modern Lab. He said that the government has been upgrading the facilities in all government hospitals across the Telangana State. He said bed-strength in NIMS has been increased from 1100 to 1500. He said ICU and Dialysis units were also started in many government hospitals. (INN)
