Game, set and match in the T bag for Congress HC

Hyderabad, July 08: The Congress leadership did a commendable job in the recent past fomenting discontent and rivalry between the Telangana leaders (only Congress men) and Seemandhra leaders on the other.

This resulted in regional imbalances for which they entertain hatred. But their ‘genuine’ purpose was served and that was to bury again the burning issue – separate Telangana.

Nobody, no other party could do it so dexterously to enact a high voltage drama to induce the Telangana leaders to feign resentment against the Centre for the cause of Telangana and tender their resignations to vent their feelings in support of their vote bank.

As stipulated, the Ministers and Legislators including MPs, put in their papers. Some of them dashed off to New Delhi in an effort to move the Central leaders for realizing separate state for Telangana.

The resignation episode climaxed the situation and allegedly convinced the common man that here is a batch of local selfless Congress leaders who were hell bent on bifurcation of the state.

So far so good, as their credibility levels zoomed to an all time high.

But the climax so assiduously built up has been shattered.

The Central leaders packed them back with not even an assurance. On the other hand, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram was categorical in saying that “it is in the process” in a no-holds-barred situation.

Fact is that the ruling party had enacted/raised an interesting platform for their Legislators/Ministers to ‘gang’ up against their own government for Telangana and then recoil is more than fascinating.

Now is the turn of Seemandhra representatives to proceed to New Delhi for another bout of exhibition of ‘resentment’/loyalty to High Command to register ‘protest’ against ‘separation’.

The ruling party seems to be crossing its boundaries in order to retain its vote bank while laying to rest the Telangana crisis with the sole intention to orchestrate their rule in Andhra Pradesh.

They had another compulsion to do it.

Kadapa rebel MP and YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is determined to announce his plans on Telangana at the party’s maiden plenary in Idupulapaya on July 8, the birthday of his father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

According to estimations from the YSR party sources, Idupulapaya in Kadapa district will be the focal point for all concerned and a big turnout is expected as a show of strength. It is also understood that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy has been consulting his aides to chalk out a plan to counter the Congress’ manifestation on Telangana issue.

What decision emerges from the said plenary on separate ‘statehood’ is not known as Kadapa’s defiant leader has chosen to keep his cards close to his chest.
