Gambhir dropped as Indian team for first two Tests against Australia announced

Indian selectors have announced the team for the first two Test matches against Australia with Gautam Gambhir being axed from the 15-man squad for poor form. Delhi opener Shikhar Dhawan would replace Gambhir in the team. Mumbai opener Ajinkya Rahane and Uttar Pradesh medium-fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar have also been included in the squad. Out of form Virender Sehwag has also been given another chance to prove his critics wrong. Veteran off spinner Harbhajan Singh makes a comeback to the Test squad after being dropped in the middle of 2011. Tamil Nadu opener Murali Vijay also makes a comeback. Gambhir will replace Dhawan in the India ‘A’ side for the three-day game against Australia, which is to be played from Feb 16-18. India and Australia would play a four-match Test series, starting at Chennai on February 22.
