Hyderabad, September 23: The Central Bureau of Investigation Special Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of bail petitions of former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law Srinivasa Reddy to September 29.
The CBI special court took this decision following continuing strike by the Telangana lawyers.
Gali and Srinivas Reddy were arrested by CBI in connection with illegal mining case registered against the Obulalpuram Mining Corporation.
Meanwhile, the CBI Director Balwinder Singh on Thursday came from New Delhi to Hyderabad to personally review the progress of cases against the OMC and also the disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress Party president Jaganmohan Reddy. He was received at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport by the CBI Joint Director VV Laxminarayana.
Later, both the officials directly proceeded to Dilkusha Guest House to review the progress of cases. Talking to reporters at Shamshabad airport, Balwinder singh said that he came to Hyderabad to personally review the progress of both the cases. “I came here as part of the investigation and there is nothing much to elaborate on my visit,” he said.
