TDP senior leader and MLC Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu has strongly opposed AICC Rahul Gandhi’s proposed tour of Anantapuram district of Andhra Pradesh from July 24.
Speaking to media persons at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat here on Wednesday, Gali alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s tour was aimed at strengthening YSR Congress Party in the State. He said Rahul Gandhi never visited the families of farmers who committed suicide during the 10-year rule of Congress party. However, after losing power, he is now planning to take out Kisan Yatra only to gain political mileage, he alleged.
Gali also accused Congress of having secret alliance with the YSRCP in AP and TRS in Telangana to ensure its survival and damage the TDP. Stating that the TDP Government has been taking several steps to help the farmers, he blamed the previous Congress Government for the problems being faced by farmers now. He also asked Rahul Gandhi and Congress party to apologise for the mistakes they committed in the past with regard to farming community. (INN)
