Gadkeri failed to keep up promise: Yeddyurappa

Continuing his tirade against the party central leadership senior BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa today accused party President Nitin Gadkeri of failing to keep up his promise. “Gadkeri has failed to keep up his words unlike Congress supremo who has kept up her promises made,” he told newsmen here. Mr Yeddyurappa said when he was asked to step down as Chief Minister on July 31, 2010, Mr Gadkari had promised to suitably compensate him soon after he was released from the jail following his arrest by Lokayukta on illegal iron ore mining case.

“But though the complaint was quashed and I was in jail for over 25 days, there was no sympathy from the senior leaders of the party and the President added fuel to my sufferings by not keeping up his promise of providing a suitable post in the Party,” Mr Yeddyurappa alleged. Mr Yeddyurappa came down heavily against BJP National General Secretary H N Ananth Kumar alleging that he (Ananth Kumar) tried thrice to dethrone him when he was Chief Minister for more than three years. “Mr Aanath Kumar wanted to become State BJP President and he was giving wrong information about me to Mr Gadkeri and Mr L K Advani. Now it is golden opportunity for him (Ananth Kumar) to stake his claim for State President post. Instead of projecting the name of Lok Sabha member Prahalad Joshi, he himself can stake claim for the post directly,’ he added.
