Gadkari puts off state unit chief polls

New Delhi, April 10: The BJP has decided to defer decisions on the next party president for states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi till after the anti-inflation rally of April 21.

The reason party president Nitin Gadkari does not want infighting to affect the rally, where he plans to see close to 25 lakh people.

“Gadkari has decided that in states where presidential polls haven’t happened… will be completed after April 21,” said spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

In UP, the contest is between Surya Prakash Shahi and Dinesh Sharma: an agency hired to analyse their merits, rejected both of them days back.
