New Delhi, November 18: BJP today said the surname of Nitin Gadkari, who is the front-runner to succeed as party president Rajnath Singh, meant a person who protects the fort and gives strength to it.
Replying to a question on the meaning of the Nitin’s surname, party spokesperson Prakash Javdekar said the Marathi meaning of Gadkari is “a person who protects the fort and gives strength to it”.
When asked if it showed that BJP needs protection and strength, Javdekar evaded a reply.
Both RSS and BJP sources have said Gadkari is the front-runner for the post of the BJP President.
