Gadkari attacks Sonia, Rahul

Gorakhpur, May 24: Attacking Congress President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on the Bhatta Parsaul issue, BJP national president Nitin Gadkari today alleged that their concern for farmers in Uttar Pradesh was more poll-driven.

Questioning the timing of the Congress’s stand on land acquisition in UP, he said, “Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are talking about launching an agitation on the issue of land acquisition and farmers during their visits to Uttar Pradesh, but didn’t framing a law cross their minds during so many years of their party’s rule. Why they were reminded of the issue at the time of Assembly elections.”

During a Congress’s convention, Rahul had threatened to replicate Bhatta Parsaul like agitation in every corner of the state, whereas Sonia assured that a Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation bill would be tabled in Parliament soon.
