Gadkari announces 25 driving centres for Jharkhand

Ranchi: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced 25 driving centres in Jharkhand as the state celebrated its 17th Foundation Day today.

“I am announcing 25 driving centres,” Gadkari, the Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister, said.

This would provide jobs to the youth in the rural and tribal areas, Gadkari said.

Gadkari also informed that he was trying to get the foundation stone laying ceremony of Ganga bridge at Sahibganj done in 15 days by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The proposed multi-model project for Sahibganj could become an industrial zone and a growth centre. Next year the focus would be on Subarnareka, he said.

Extending good wishes to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of Bhagawan Birsa Munda Jayanti and paying tributes to the freedom fighter, Gadkari said the occasion reminded him of Vajpayee’s thought that small states could develop better.

Seventeen years on, one could see how Jharkhand’s development was on the accelerated path, he said.

“I am happy that Vajpayee ji’s thought is going to become fruitful, and I congratulate the people on the occasion,” Gadkari said.

He said priorities for the state and the country were to give corruption-free governance, participation of the people and acceleration of development and under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He recalled Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s dream of reaching out to the person standing in the line, adding the Raghubar Das government was working to help the people and the poor.
