Gadkari accuses Cong of spreading lie that BJP is anti-Muslim

Haridwar, July 09: BJP President Nitin Gadkari today accused
the Congress of launching ” false propaganda that we are against Muslims.”

” If we were against Muslims, then how could we make Dr APJ Abdul Kalam the President of the country,” Mr Gadkari said addressing a largely attended workers’ meeting at the community centre of Bharat Heavy Electricals

Mr Gadkari alleged that leaders of the Congress in different
states have encroached the ‘Waqf’ properties of about Rs 25,000
crore.

He asked the Muslims how can such a party be trusted to
safeguard the interests of the Muslims.
He asserted that it is only the BJP which can challenge
the Congress.

Pointing towards the dalits and Muslims, he said the BJP
was a nationalist party. The Congress was responsible for all the problems
confronting the country, he said.

Mr Gadkari said the main problems which confronted the country
were threats to internal and external security, rising inflation
and spiralling unemployment. He blamed the wrong policies of the Central Government for all these problems.

He alleged that the Central Government was going soft with
the terrorists and the Maoists.

”On one hand, the terrorists from across the border are posing
threat to the security of the country, on the other hand the
menace of Naxalism is assuming alarming proportion in many
parts of the country,” he said.

He further said the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was a
caste-based party and that the BSP and the Samajwadi Party had a
hidden alliance with the Congress. ”These parties are haunted
by the fear of the cases of corruption, in which a CBI inquiry
was going on. So these parties can never stand against the
Congress. It is very likely that in future these parties will
go with the Congress,” he said.

Squashing all the speculations regarding the change of
guard in Uttarakhand, he said ‘Nishank,’ who was doing an
excellent job, will continue to lead the Government.
