Balladeer Gaddar has demanded that Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana start distribution of 250 acres of land among Dalit people as scheduled from November 1 at Laximpeta in Srikakulam district.
Releasing a poster relating to the ‘ Dalit People’s Protest Padayatra’ here on Monday, Gaddar said that land dispute between the Dalits and Kapus was the main reason in Laxmipeta massacre incident. He demanded that the State government resolve the issue by distributing 250 acres of land among the Dalit people in the village.
Gaddar advised Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to learn lessons from the history of Dalit agitations in the country. He also demanded that the State government set up a special court at Laxmipet to complete the trial of the accused in three months.
Laxmipeta Dalita Porata Solidarity Committee co-convener Duddu Prabhakar said that the padayatra will be led by committee convener Bojja Tarakam from Laxmipeta from October 13 to 16 demanding that the State government set up special court at Laxmipeta and distribute 250 acres of land to Dalit people in the village. The padayatra will pass through Vangara, Madduvalasa, Ranjam, Ponduru, Etcharla and reaches Srikakulam on October 16. A public meeting will be held on the same day, he added.
B.C. Mahasabha State president U. Sambasivarao, RPI State general secretary Suresh, ‘Virasam’ leader Rivera and Mahila Chaitanya Sangham president Radha were also present.
