Balladeer Gaddar did not get an appointment with Governor E S L Narasimhan to submit a representation seeking a CBI inquiry into an attack on him about 17 years ago.
When Gaddar went to Rajbhavan to call on the Governor, he was told that the latter was pre-occupied with his engagements and could not give an appointment to Gaddar. It may be mentioned here that some unidentified persons had attacked and fired at Gaddar on April 6, 1997 at his residence at Alwal in which he sustained bullet injury. However, he was immediately operated upon and saved his life. But a bullet still embedded in his body.
Gaddar wanted to request the Governor to hand over the case to the CBI for inquiry as no proper investigation was conducted and the case was closed in 2001 treating as “ undetected”. (NSS)
