Hyderabad, October 18: For the first time, Telangana Praja Front (TPF) founder Gadar has come in for attack from a senior functionary of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Former minister and TRS politburo member A Chandrasekhar on Saturday found fault with Gadar for making criticism of the separatist party as the sole agenda of his campaign.
On the first day of his tour in Mahboobnagar district on Friday, Gadar accused the TRS of failing to steer the Telangana movement in the right direction and also charged its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao with not using Parliament as a platform to highlight the demand for a separate state.
“Gadar is free to launch a party and take forward the ongoing movement. But, criticising TRS all the time is not correct,” Chandrasekhar averred while speaking to mediapersons.
The launch of a front by Gadar has evoked mixed reactions, some reacting positively and others negatively, but the TRS has chosen to maintain silence until it realised that it was the only party coming under attack from the balladeer.
“There are only two MPs from TRS. How much time will they be allotted in the Lok Sabha to enable them to raise the issue effectively? Gadar is making comments without even knowing how Parliament works,” Chandrasekhar said.
He also pointed out that though KCR launched TRS 10 years ago, he never attacked former chief minister Marri Chenna Reddy who spearheaded the movement in the 60s for a Telangana state only to give it up later. “What purpose would it serve if all those fighting for the same cause criticise each other? Gadar should realise this,” the former minister said.
Chandrasekhar also had a jibe at Gadar who was said to have addressed Lambadis in Mahboobnagar in English.
“What is he trying to convey to them in a language that they do not understand?” Chandrasekhar questioned. In the same vein, he also offered a piece of advice. “If Gadar runs the front on proper lines, those opposed to KCR or those who like him (Gadar) would join TPF. He should not let go that opportunity.”
Interestingly, it was not very long ago that Chandrasekhar indulged in KCR bashing until the two patched up after the 2009 general elections.
