Hyderabad, October 09: Balladeer Gadar is all set to to form the Telangana Praja Front tomorrow which has already set off alarm bells ringing in established political parties.
The guiding principle of the front will be: force the Centre into introducing a bill in Parliament for creation of a separate state for Telangana on or before December 6, coinciding with the day last year when Union minister for home P Chidambaram made the historical announcement that the ‘process for formation of Telangana state is being initiated’.
About 1,000 leaders representing varied aspects of Telangana will confer with the balladeer on the way they should take the movement forward. At this meeting, the chairman and the ad hoc committee will be elected. The slogans of the front will be: selfrespect, self-rule and equal justice.
The TPF is already attracting several Telangana protagonists who had moved away from the TRS and TJAC due to various reasons and some disgruntled elements in other political parties. It is learnt that the CPI-ML Janashakthi sympathisers and several others from its front organisations might take part in the deliberations tomorrow.
Meanwhile, a large number of leaders and activists of Telangana organisations in and around the city visited Gadar’s residence and extended their solidarity with the TPF.
Gadar told them the front would not have any rigid ideology. “If necessary we will take part in the electoral process.” He said that the front, though a small organisation, had the support of a large number of people who are eager to see a people’s movement built.
He said the TPF was not against TRS or any other Telangana organisation. It was keen on exposing the grey areas in the movement in the interest of the Telangana cause. “Using Telangana slogans, several leaders were elected as MLAs but after that they never bothered about the need for further strengthening the movement. The front will make a sincere attempt to address the problem,” he said.
